Yami Saturday Evening Show with Tom Scott, Gin Wigmore, Haz & Miloux and Bobby Brazuka

Yami is Back! During the weekend of May 3rd and 4th we will be celebrating 10 years of YAMI, (Youth + Adults in the Music Industry). This one-of-a-kind weekend summit guides musicians and music-lovers keen to pursue a career in the industry.
On Saturday night (May 3rd), the general public is treated to performances from Tom Scott (Home Brew, Avantdale Bowling Club), Gin Wigmore, Haz + Miloux and Bobby Brazuka (Latinaotearoa), supported by choir and bands.

Tom Scott is one of the most compelling figures to emerge from the New Zealand hip-hop scene over the last fifteen years. Multi-award winning rapper, songwriter and bandleader (Home Brew, @Peace, Avantdale Bowling Club) plus record label owner (Years Gone By) Tom Scott continues to influence and push boundaries across genres. He performs with his longtime beatmaker Hazbeats plus backing band.
Having won NZ Music awards for Highest Selling Album (Holy Smoke) Single of the Year (“Black Sheep”) Best Female Solo Artist and Best Pop Album (Gravel & Wine), Gin Wigmore shows why she’s one of Aotearoa’s most beloved performers.

L.A. based, Gin is currently working on her fifth studio album. Having won NZ Music awards for Highest Selling Album (Holy Smoke) Single of the Year (“Black Sheep”) Best Female Solo Artist and Best Pop Album (Gravel & Wine), Gin is superbly placed to guide singer songwriters as they compose, record and release singles.

The collaboration between veteran producer Haz Beats and soul-heavy vocalist/producer Miloux (Rebecca Melrose) is the perfect pairing of two boldly creative artists. Haz & Miloux’s sound incorporates elements from soul, jazz, r&b and hip hop, and can best be described as neo-soul. After coming together in 2018, Haz & Miloux went on to win the Aotearoa Music Award for Best Soul/RnB Artist Award in 2020, are twice short-listed Silver Scroll nominees, and have performed internationally to a loyal following.

With a DJ career that spans almost 20 years, Bobby Brazuka (Latinaotearoa) has carved out a niche playing Latin and Latin-inspired music in Aotearoa. Growing up listening to Brazilian greats Jorge Ben, Tim Maia and Marcos Valle, Bobby infused his rich musical heritage into Auckland’s DJ culture, building a community around his Latin parties and earning himself a reputation as our unofficial Brazilian Music Ambassador. With over 3000 records from samba and bossa, to cumbia, soul and funk, Bobby’s extensive collection of rare 45’s and original pressings define his curated vinyl show.
