Te Atamira Afterschool Programme - Term 1, 2026

Come along to our Afterschool Programme lead by our new Education team, where we form a fun environment for creative learning for tamariki. Mondays - Thursdays | From 3:30pm | Ages 5 – 13. All of the following classes are $195 for the full term, and registrations are essential.

 

The Art of Drawing and Painting – Every Monday, launches 2 February (9 weeks)
Ages 9-13 | 3:30pm - 5pm

Unleash your inner artist in this fun and exploratory class! Young creatives will develop confidence as they learn fundamental drawing and painting techniques, experimenting with a range of materials, styles, and processes. Students will create unique artworks while building their artistic skills, with opportunities to extend for more experienced students. This class is perfect for those who love to get creative and enjoy the magic of making pictures!

The Art of Drawing and Painting – Every Tuesday, launches 3 February (9 weeks)‍
Ages 5-8 | 3:30pm – 5pm

Let your imagination shine in this fun, hands-on art class! Tamariki will explore drawing and painting while trying out lots of different art materials, colours, and techniques. They’ll make their own wonderful artworks, grow their confidence, and enjoy the magic of creating pictures. Perfect for young artists who love to have fun and get creative!‍

Creative Clay Intermediate – Every Wednesday, launches 4 February (9 weeks)‍
Ages 5-13, intermediate | 3:30pm – 5pm

Take your clay skills to the next level! This class is designed for students who are ready to refine their hand-building and sculpting techniques while experimenting with form, function, and glazing. Students will be guided to create more advanced and imaginative ceramic works in a supportive and creative environment. Intermediate is right for you if you have been to clay classes at Te Atamira before and have some confidence in the basic techniques.

 

Mixed Media – Every Thursday, launches 5 February (9 weeks)‍
Ages 5–13 | 3:30pm – 5pm

Get ready to embark on an artistic adventure in our mixed media art programme. Children will explore a wide range of materials and techniques while taking inspiration from the Te Atamira gallery, artists, art styles, and their own imagination. Each week offers opportunities to combine media such as drawing, painting, collage, print-making, textiles, and more in playful and creative ways.
