Te Wāhi Toi/The Arts Place exists to connect the creative community of Queenstown and Wānaka with audiences, students, teachers, spaces and each other. We are a not-for-profit organisation powered by Three Lakes Cultural Trust and inspired by local arts and culture.
This 2-day workshop is suitable for students who are just beginning their painting journey but ideally have done a beginners course or been painting at home.
Over the two days students will look to develop their individual approach to painting with acrylics in either still life or an abstract genre.
We will cover the basics such as priming surfaces as well as discussing and experimenting with different techniques.
Students should be willing to try new approaches. They will produce a number of small works with the purpose of having an individual direction to pursue.
