Over two decades, The Veils have built a reputation as one of the world’s most compelling live bands. Fronted by the magnetic Finn Andrews, who was signed to Rough Trade Records at just 16, the band delivers performances that are raw, intense, and deeply atmospheric, weaving together soaring melodies and cinematic storytelling.
Their music has captured the imagination of acclaimed filmmakers like David Lynch, Paolo Sorrentino, and Tim Burton, who have featured The Veils’ hauntingly evocative tracks in their soundtracks. Known for their genre-defying sound, the band has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Run the Jewels’ El-P.
The Veils released their highly anticipated new album in January 2025, Asphodels, marking a bold new chapter in their storied career. Festival of Colour audiences will be among the first to experience this work, as the band showcases tracks from the album alongside fan favourites.
With Finn Andrews’ unmistakable vocals and emotive piano and guitar, joined by the powerhouse lineup of Chris O’Connor on drums, Dan Raishbrook on guitar and pedal steel, Dave Khan on violin and piano, and James Duncan on bass, this performance promises an evening of musical brilliance bringing their signature intensity and passion to the Crystal Palace.
