Working with Actors for Writers & Directors

Bring your original scripts to life with actors and learn rehearsal and directing tools.
Supported by Film Queenstown Lakes

Calling all aspiring directors and screenwriters keen to learn tools for working with actors and test them out on scenes from your original script!

We'll learn rehearsal processes & quick on-set tools for building connection and truthful performances.

What kind of script can I submit?

A standalone scene, a section of a short film, a scene from a feature length screenplay, or a section of a stage play

It just needs to be about 3-6 pages

ideally featuring 2 main characters aged 12+ and a moment of conflict, or the climax of the story.

Not sure what scene to pick? Just send in some options or a whole script and I can help decide.

Works in progress welcome!

This is an opportunity to see how they work off the page!

Scripts & actor requirements are due April 25th to allow for casting and let our actors learn their lines!

Facilitated by Amalia Remus, a young local actor and filmmaker who has been teaching teens and adults screen acting classes at Te Atamira for the last 6 months.
