13 October: Drawing the Land - Finding your Own Way with Priscilla Claire

Join contemporary landscape artist Priscilla Clare for a fun and relaxed 90-minute drawing class, where you’ll explore the simple sketching practice at the heart of her creative process. We’ll start with the basics of landscape drawing looking at shape, composition and how to capture the feeling of a place. From there, Priscilla will show you playful ways to bring your landscape to life with colour, texture and imagination. No drawing experience is needed! Working with just paper and coloured pencils, you’ll experiment, have fun and discover how simple marks and colour can turn into a lively, expressive landscape drawing.

About your Facilitator: Priscilla Clare is a contemporary landscape artist based in  Queenstown, New Zealand. She creates vibrant paintings inspired by the  country's mountains, lakes, and forests, reimagining familiar landscapes as dreamlike environments where colour, light, and atmosphere become as  important as geography.    She has created art her whole life but began oil painting in 2016 after she  moved to New Zealand. Time spent outdoors is central to her process. Whether  hiking or cycling through the landscapes surrounding her home, she gathers  sketches, photographs, and impressions that inform her studio practice.
