New Zealand is full of incredible, edible wild foods – from fruit and fungi to seaweed, berries, herbs, and more. All you need is the knowledge of where to look and how to forage safely. In this workshop, foraging expert Peter Langlands will introduce you to interesting wild plants growing around the Wānaka lakefront, helping you to see our environment through a new lens.
One of New Zealand’s few licensed professional foragers, Peter has spent years compiling Aotearoa’s largest database of wild plants into his book, Foraging New Zealand. He has worked with top chefs and led numerous workshops, making him the ideal guide to uncover nature’s culinary treasures.
Join Peter for a 60-minute walk beginning at the Dinosaur Park to discover edible plants and learn safe foraging tips. Whether you’re an experienced forager or a curious beginner, this workshop offers a chance to connect with our place in a unique way and enhance your culinary skills. A special foraged lunch will be hosted by Kika the next day as a separate event.
On as part of the Wānaka Festival of Colour.
