After a sell-out show at last year's Aspiring Conversations, award-winning playwright and performance poet Nathan Joe is back with DIRTY PASSPORTS for their biggest show yet. Conceived as a celebration of some of Aotearoa's best BIPOC storytellers, this show will feature a range of spoken word artists, comedy and musicians. Come to witness the untwisting of tongues and shattering of stereotypes all for your dis/pleasure.
Nathan Joe (Chinese) himself will be hosting this evening, showcasing the likes of multidisciplinary artist Manu Vaea (Tongan), poet Liam Jacobson (Kāi Tahu), comedian Janaye Henry (Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa), sibling duo Ersha Island (Chinese-Pākeha) and vocalist Kommi (Kāi Tahu, Te-Āti-Awa).
They will also be joined by DJ Mr Meaty Boy (Ngāti Porou, Ngāpuhi), constructing a live electronic score to elevate some of the words across the evening.
