Te Wāhi Toi/The Arts Place exists to connect the creative community of Queenstown and Wānaka with audiences, students, teachers, spaces and each other. We are a not-for-profit organisation powered by Three Lakes Cultural Trust and inspired by local arts and culture.
Up in the Mountains is going to be a super fun day where we create an amazing art work using watercolour and coloured pencil.
What would you like to see on an adventure up in the mountains? A kea, a Pringles lizard? Would you love to come across Zoi Sadowski-Synnott while skiing / riding or Nico Porteous? Maybe it is the elusive yeti? A snow leopard? What you choose in your mountain scene is up to you!
My amazing helper Tori will be joining us to assist.
This is a class that is designed to cater to different abilities and ages from 7 +

What to bring

I do advise students to wear old clothes
A jersey and shoes for when we have breaks outside
The class is taught by Lizzie Thomas who paints under the moniker ellaquaint, an animal lover and painter from way back. She is a registered teacher and has a wealth of experience teaching at Secondary School Level as well after school kids classes, adult night classes and workshops. A practicing and exhibiting artist with over 30 years painting experience, she is excited to create a super-fun art filled day for you :)
