Community Craft: Theatre Games and Stagecraft

Join us on the third Tuesday of each month for Community Craft - a free, drop-in night to explore creative forms like writing, sewing, and dance. All levels and ages welcome. Come along and hone a craft!

Our March session is Theatre games and Stagecraft with Remarkable Theatre.

Join us for a relaxed and fun evening with Remarkable Theatre, Queenstown's vibrant community theatre group! In this playful session, they'll lead us through some light-hearted theatre games and introduce some character-based acting techniques. Connect with your friends and whānau, have a few laughs, and enjoy some playful creativity. Everyone is welcome, whether you're a seasoned performer or have never set foot on a stage. Come along to discover the joy of improvisation, build confidence, and meet new friends in a supportive, social atmosphere.

About the facilitator: Remarkable Theatre is a volunteer community theatre group  producing, promoting, and growing performing arts in and around Queenstown. Since 2009, they’ve been bringing high-quality, entertaining productions to life, fostering creativity and connection through the performing arts. Run entirely by volunteers, they aim to promote performing arts throughout the Central Otago region and encourage the development of acting and performance  skills within the community. Annual activities include a main-stage production, a short-form playwriting competition, monthly workshops, and their ever-popular "promenade" performances in the Queenstown Gardens, through which they've been delivering entertaining theatre performances for over a decade. Whether you're in the audience, on stage, or part of the crew, you're essential to the Remarkable Theatre family.

About Community Craft: Community Craft is a free, drop-in night for exploring all kinds of artistic craft - from writing and dancing to sewing and beyond. Whether you're trying something new or continuing a creative practice, this is a relaxed, welcoming space to connect and make alongside others. Open to all levels and ages. All welcome – bring a friend! No RSVP required.

Thank you to Central Lakes Trust for bringing creativity to our community.
