Hi! I'm Sampford—Sam for short.

I’m a Wanaka-based commercial photographer and videographer with over a decade of experience photographing people, products, and places.

With a strong background in commercial and architectural photography, I’ve worked with a range of local businesses to photograph their spaces, snap headshots, and create videos that help elevate their brands. 

In my downtime, I enjoy creating photography prints of Otago and have held several local exhibitions to showcase my work. My latest project, Viewfinder, retraces heritage photographs of Otago from the past 100 years and blends them in to their modern-day locations. 

I have a rare eye condition called Keratoconus, which distorts my eyesight and (at least in my mind) lends to my unique, minimalistic photographic style.
