Originally from Scotland, I was immersed in a rich blend of classical and traditional music from an early age. My journey began as the leader of my regional string orchestra and a member of the Edinburgh Highland Reel & Strathspey Fiddle Orchestra, where I developed a lifelong love for Scottish and Irish traditional music.
In Queenstown, I continue to share this passion through vibrant pub sessions, bringing a taste of my heritage to the local community.
My approach to teaching is grounded in the belief that music is a powerful tool for wellbeing and development. With a background as a fully-trained primary school teacher, I specialise in early years and young learners, focusing on building a solid foundation of musical skill and knowledge. My goal is to foster a nurturing environment where children can explore their musical potential and develop a lifelong love for music.
I offer the following servies at Te Atamira:
- After-School Violin Lessons - tailored sessions to build technical skills and musical understanding.
- Magical Music Group Classes: Engaging classes for 2-5 year olds on Mondays and Wednesdays at 10am, designed to introduce young children to the joys of music.
I am also available for performance opportunities, including weddings, concerts, and special occasions. If you're interested in having me perform at your event, feel free to reach out directly.
